Is it my understanding that the requirement for the 4GB RAM and 2.8GHz clock speed for the "Full" (and premium) version of the SRC is not only for the Demo but also for the final dongle??
I have to comment on this that it is difficult to find an affordable laptop with these parameters.
People like us typically have these specs on our boxes, however I am finding that most people do not have the required clock speed. Other than gaming laptops, that are quite pricey, it's hard to find this clock speed, unless it has a turbo, and what are your comments on the turbo?
Are you experiencing this at all, or has it not been brought up? and do you have particular computer models in mind that will suffice?
I appreciate you all and the wonderful work you are doing!! Hugs! S

I will look into it and get back with you. However, I know there are some affordable computers that can meet the specs. I just have to find them.

tell me where to look, or some parameters to google so we can get some Christmas specials, if there are any, that will meet the minimum requirements for the hardware required to run the src full and premium.
Also, I read in the faq's on the src4all site that the dongle will take care of upgrading the computer if it is out of date... in what way?
Thanks! Love all that you all do for us!!! Like "WAY"!!

Realize that we authors make no claim, or in suggesting a computer in any way take any responsibility for what you might choose to buy. (You know, the legal stuff...) ;D There are several models made by a company called "Pro Star" -- a computer company in California. They have a website and you can configure your computer to your specifications. There are currently three computers that meet or exceed the specifications offered by them. One of the four founders just got one from them. I am soon to follow. Several recent SRC4U buyers have also purchased a laptop from Pro Star. Here is the link to their website: www.pro-star.com/Consider the following models: B7130 ; M770CUH; W765CUH You will need to specifiy specific configurations to meet or exceed what the SRC4U software recommendations require. ALWAYS consider the three year warranty!! Contact them, ensure how many they have in stock. Tell them that Kathy Blair sent you Whatever your budget, whatever your computer choice: For the most optimum performance, ensure that the minimum specifications are met. If your computer can not support ten simultaneous scan / corrections sequences (for SRC4U Premium), you will not get the results that the software was designed to deliver. On one of my computers, I can only run three simultaneous scan / correction sequences (Premium version) because my computer does not meet the high end requirements. I get the error messages. The CPU tops at (especially during the Scan sequence) and just can't do more. Hope that helps!

While I do plan to upgrade to the requirements as stated I have run 5 Premium versions (may be able to do more but have not tried yet) with my Dell DT which has the following basic properties: 2.66 GHZ and 2.5 RAM

I now have used the premium version on my laptop and so far have been able to load 6 different clients. I do eventually plan to buy a new one to the recommended specification. In the meantime it is nice to know I can run at least 6 premiums on a LT with with only 1GB or Ram and 1.83 GHZ.
